Wheal Grey field trip August 2013

A currebt and ongoing project
Past project completed by CBMS

14 members of the society braved the wet weather for the August field trip to Wheal Grey at Tresowes Green near Ashton.

Simon Barnard, the owner, led the group and was helped in his explanations by Steve Poglase.
Among the things that the group saw was a large single storey building holding the remains of two buddles which is soon to be converted into a dwelling. They also saw the impressive Wheal Grey Engine House which at one time held a 60inch pumping engine. The house is in good condition with the boiler room walls intact and is all grade II listed.
